Data Transformation and Analytics

Simplified data analysis with familiar spreadsheet-like interface...

Traditional BI tools are notoriously difficult to use and often require extensive IT help to prepare data for analysis. In fact, Excel is the most widely used tool for data analysis. Business users, intimately familiar with the spreadsheet paradigm for analyzing data, access data from a variety of sources and then use Excel to view, analyze and graph data. But Excel has very limited capabilities and the end result is that serious BI is used by only a fraction of people who actually need the data.

Datameer opens big data analytics for business users through its spreadsheet like interface that enables anyone to build powerful analytic workflows across structured and unstructured data. Datameer doesn't require pre-built analytic data structures such as data marts or OLAP cubes but instead leverages the power of Hadoop to transform raw structured and unstructured data into analytic workbooks for analysis. Users can easily use the pre-built formulas, filtering, and sorting to locate and fine-tune the specific information they need through viewing a sampling of the data results (patent pending technology). Once satisfied with the analysis, they then schedule when they want to run the job. Once scheduled, the data transformations and analysis are applied to the entire dataset via native MapReduce jobs on the Hadoop cluster.

Analysis With 200+ Functions

Deliver Data Users Need

Join Data From Multiple Sources

Datameer supports an extensive selection of analytic functions within the workbook structure including:

  • Formulas (over 200 functions are currently included)
  • Filtering including AND or OR
  • Joins including inner, outer and left or rights as well as sorting to view the results in the order the user specifies

In addition to the pre-built analytic functions provided within Datameer, users can apply analytic functions and algorithms from third party packages such as SAS via PMML (predictive modeling markup language) and can export results to third-party BI software packages for further analysis.

"As a result of using Datameer, nurago is better able to help our clients identify and analyze patterns in behavioral data of panel members. Datameer helps us as a market research vendor to scale for our most granular data requirements and greatly simplifies the integration of multiple sources. In addition, Datameer makes reporting on big data analytics directly accessible to our analysts so that they don't need to turn to developers for their requirements."
